Florida Tech Honors Travis Proctor as the College of Engineering’s Alumni of the Year

Artemis CEO receives accolade as supporter of the University, business and community leader.

Melbourne, FL – Florida Tech names Travis Proctor, local technology business and community leader, as it’s Alumni of the year, from the College on Engineering.

Florida Tech is the only independent technological university in the Southeast and ranks among the best private colleges in the United States. Florida Tech is ranked a Tier One Best National University by U.S. News & World Report in its 2012 edition of “Best Colleges.”

“Travis Proctor is most deserving of this distinction. He is an extremely accomplished entrepreneur, a supporter of Florida Tech and the local community. We are very proud that he is a Florida Tech College of Engineering graduate,” said Fredric M. Ham, Dean of Engineering and Harris Professor.

Travis founded and leads Brevard County’s premier information technology provider, Artemis. His growing firm provides IT services to many corporate, non-profit and small business clients in Brevard County, Central Florida, and across the US.

Employing more than fifty people in their Melbourne, Rockledge and Viera offices, Artemis help their clients leverage technology to solve real-world business challenges, from managed IT services, network, computer, phone and hosted support.

In the Brevard County community Travis is a relentless supporter, including serving as President of the Brevard Heart Foundation, Treasurer for the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, and is a member of Florida Tech’s Board of Trustees.

“I am both honored and humbled to receive this award,” states Proctor, “Florida Tech has played an important role in my success, and I am pleased to support the University in its mission to provide future leaders with a world class education.”
