Space Coast EDC names Artemis the Innovation Company of the Year

Growth and innovation continue to drive Artemis as a strong community and business partner

Melbourne, FL – The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) recently met to celebrate a milestone, thanking and honoring members who have helped build the Brevard County community over the past two decades. Gathering at Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts at Brevard Community College, EDC members participated in the organization’s annual meeting.

Special recognition went to Artemis, named Innovation Company of the Year. Artemis provides information technology services, network engineering and cloud computing services.

In March, the company broke ground on a $5 million data center, in order to expand its hosting, cloud and managed IT offerings. Just prior, in February, NetDirective Technologies, Inc. and Artemis International Technologies, Inc. announced a merger to form Artemis. The move creates a powerful IT service provider, able to meet the needs of both small to medium sized and enterprise businesses with secure, Managed IT Services.

Also honored at the event was the Harris Corporation, one of Brevard County’s largest employers, as Manufacturer of the Year. Julie Song, project manager for the Florida Manufacturing Extension Partnership, was named as the EDC’s volunteer of the year. And Brevard County Commissioner Robin Fisher was awarded the Gary R. Cunningham Distinguished Service Award.

Marking twenty years of amazing effort, the gathering of several hundred business and community leaders reviewed the past success, present challenges, and future economic goals for the Space Coast.
